GreatDomains.com - Please Post Accepted and Denied Names

One of my names, PinotGrigiot.us, was recently accepted by GreatDomains.com after having several names denied. I had a small thread going about this before, but I'd like to start a larger thread where everyone can post which names they've submitted to Great Domains and the outcome. This may help us get a better understanding of how they select names.

GD is a unique bunch. They often accept domains you wouldn't think would go for more than low xxx and often deny domains worth x,xxx or higher. For instance, I just recently had vip.cc rejected from them. You can't tell me vip.cc wouldn't go for at least $5k even with the crummy extension. GD has vip.us listed at $50k!

do some research on .cc - it isn't true that every single extension rocks.


.us is united states and is getting very popular while .cc is still not really popular

See, this is what I dont like about Great Domains. I mean no offence to you, but spacetrip.tv is not as good as filmcritic.tv, yet yours is accepted, and his isnt. There are many others like that. They vary way to much in what they accept. :td:

I disagree. SpaceTrip.tv is an exceptional name, as you will be hearing more and more about everyday people taking "space trips" on tv. The developing space travel industry will be hungry for a domain like this once it becomes commonplace (and it will). On the other hand, filmcritic.tv is an okay name, but has no sizzle. There is no reason for the film industry to use such a name. My opinion (plus a quarter = 25 cents).

While I think Gene hit the nail on the head about spacetrips.tv, I'm a bit shocked myself that filmcritic.tv didn't warrent atleast a $5k listing (albiet, I'd have even expected much more).
