Woke up today full of vim and vigour and decide to email the SVP's at the below companies promoting one of my names.......

Will let you know IF and when I get any replies and share the communication trail.....Think it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

    C.oca Cola - zero calorie
    P.epsico - zero calorie
    D.anone - zero fat
    N.estle - zero fat

    Hi ( first name),

I am the current owner of 0oz/com- which is now for sale.

I feel the above would create excellent value for C.oca Cola's Zero Calorie product range (or Fat depending on company)

    • A premium .Com domain name creates instant branding, search engine, and marketing benefits
    • Great Brand Recognition
    • Creates an immediate presence
    • Short and memorable - Great for Social Media
    • Name will increase in value and will help increase profit margins

I am only reaching out to a select few organisations and would appreciate a quick response if there is any interest from your side.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via email or phone (see below).

    Kind regards

***Will also be emailing 10 online education companies today as well with Qualifications/online.....so we will see how it goes and will update thread accordingly***

I call Directors and SVP's across Europe on a daily basis and have had no issues since it came into effect

I source their details online which is in the public domain and the ONLY time it was mentioned I said I would delete their details - job done and no complaints

wanted to share my email template for a non .com extension - see below (deliberate dot in company name for this thread)

    Hi (first name),

I am the current owner of qualifications.online - which is now for sale.

I feel the above would create excellent value for C.oursera - please see below.

    • "Qualifications" is searched over 30,000 times a month
    • Excellent marketing tool, in that it has the potential to catch important internet traffic
    • Easy to remember - suitable both for campaigns and to help define your existing brand.
    • Helps create a competitive advantage and expand your coverage within your industry
    • Relevant generic domain names have historically proven to be more useful than branded domain names when it comes to pay-per-click in search engine campaigns, as they tend to generate higher click-through rates

I am only reaching out to a select few organisations and would appreciate a quick response if there is any interest from your side.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via email or phone (see below).

    Kind regards

Generally people like to read success stories and not "attempt to success" stories..!!

I will come back and read this thread again, once u make a sale by this method.

0oz/com sounds like "no ounces" or "zero ounces", not "no/zero calories". Let us know if they reply.

If you email US entities, be aware of US law known as the CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing) act of 2003. Among other things that law requires your message to include your valid physical postal address and a clear and conspicuous explanation of how the recipient can opt out of getting email from you in the future.

Regarding your sales pitch, your targets are giant companies who already have short, memorable, branded names. If and when they want a niche name they can get the best: zerofat/nofat/etc. As Jimbo noted, zero ounces conveys the wrong message, we live in a big gulp world.

A generic sales eMail promoting low value domains, you don't need a crystal ball for this outcome.

Btw, I have tried to sell my low value domains to several companies, only PepsiCo's CEO replied with a "no thanks". I would spam them again for some other domain.

The way I'm reading this is that it is OK for you to "Spam" these companies but not me?

I have not emailed their CEO's but their Marketing people with a relevant proposal, time and time again when you call companies what is the PA's or secretary's standard response?

"It would be easier for you to each them via email" - If you ask for their email address 9 times out of 10 you will be given it.

We will have to agree to disagree on this......

Thanks for the legal heads up - appreciate it.

Will disagree about us living in a big gulp world - We live in a world where MANY people have a very keen interest in healthy living around the globe.

I thought it would be interesting to see if the emails sent generate any response's - if they don't I will tweak the email and send to another 5 companies etc etc and hopefully by sharing the process this can help others with their email proposals - Hopefully others will share their attempts and we can learn together......

This is not a generic email - I have personalised it, raised some nice USP's and mentioned the company and the product range it would fit into, so I would say I have specified a target and reached out to it.

Generic - "characteristic of or relating to a class or group of things; not specific".

Google 0oz drink and it comes up with plenty of examples of healthy drinks - I might have targeted the wrong companies to start with, but may as well start big and work your way down the list

    Edit

Also 0oz fat has good examples - 2 of the companies I reached to where for their 0 fat range

Yes many people embrace clean living but like everyone else they want bang for their buck. Soft drink labels list ingredients in terms of % daily value and mass units grams or mg. If anything is labeled in ounces it’s the unit container (can) total contents so promoting soda as “0oz” is likely to get consumer backfire:

    • Zero ounces? No thanks, big gulp please and make it a diet.
    • 0oz? Yuck, ooze, no thanks, where’s the healthy stuff?
    • 0oz? Where’s the Ouzo? Opa opa!

No no.. It's perfectly okay to 'spam' these companies for everyone.. as long as you are 100% sure that your domain will benefit their company.. if someone is sending sh*tty names hoping to get lucky, that person is wasting time.

oz is a weight unit, like grams, so 0oz means they would sell empty bottles

@gustave - Good shout - started with 2 non calorie and 2 non fat - no response so will move onto more non fat and also weight loss companies - not going to admit failure on the non calorie side after 2 attempts either :xf.smile:

will put a list together over the weekend and start again on Monday (including more for the qualifications one!)

Right I am going to eat humble pie here :xf.smile:

I have spent the last few weeks doing some outbound emails to various companies of various size within different industries, promoting different names and the result?

Positive - no one told me to do one or was rude

The rest is as follows - 5 people replied back saying no thanks and the 95 did not reply back!

I have never been a fan of trying to sell via email, I have posted in other threads to this effect and my reservations IMO have been proven true.

I am going part time at work and will be working from home on some other projects after the summer so will be picking the phone up in August/September and doing what I do best and try selling some names over the phone (it's what I've done for the last 20 odd years!) This gives the opportunity to really sell the benefits and answer any objections instantly and build that trust that an email can't portray.

If anyone is has having regular proven success with their email campaigns feel free to share your experiences as I do not want to put people off if it is working for others!
