Hi!
Just picked up this beauty!

Goy dot net

Not only a 3 letter .net
but also a pronounceable word!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goy

Oh, and a real name of people too, with nearly 2 million google results btw

Any educated thoughts as to the value here?
:)

p.s. - domain is aged (around7-8 years) and I also got two others - ggy and gek - both .net also!

Also makes a nice typo of got.net. Great name gingeman!

Congrats! High $XXX to low $X,XXX at the moment, and the value will most likely increase over the course of the year.

Hmm, thanks guys but I am really sure you are off the mark here- even the worst letter combo's on names that change hands monthly sell for $750. This is a real word, pronounceable, and over 7 years old. Anyone else?

That in mind, $1,000-2,500 looks possible undeveloped -- $5,000+ to a really, really interested buyer.

Reseller $750-$900. The pronounceable word doesn't help very much in this case, since goy is defined as disparaging.

Your other domains are worth more--> ggy and gek
I like those letters.

Good luck with your domains.

Pretty nice pronounceable name. I would say high $xxx to low $xxxx.

$1500 undeveloped due to history but in my opinion for anything higher it would have to be an established name. End user maybe $3k but I would be surprised if you got more with the .net extension.

Thanks everyone for their input. Any more thoughts? I have GGY.NET up for sale now, which has phenomenal potential (.com developed, several companies using the acronym). It got a $1000 bid within 20 minutes of being listed on DNF, am still waiting for it to be approved for the higher priced domains section here.

You should definately ask SEDO to put GGY.net on an auction. They'll do a lot of work with it. GGY.net might hit $5,000 or more on SEDO. G is a common letter, Y isn't bad in this case (it's the last letter) and double-digits are rare -- and two G's are better than 2 Y's.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the opinion Archangel- maybe I will give it a try. I am probably spiting myself over the Sedo auctions, but I have found their customer service sooo bad I resent even emailing them now- they denied an LLL.com of mine was a premium name, and refuse point blank to even add two of my names to their account - even though I email them from the whois email and go to great lengths to prove they are mine- I feel like they blackmail me into parking with them, and they have never given me a decent sale, even though I know I have names with potential.
Perhaps I will give them another shot with this one though.
Thanks
Chris

I used to hate SEDO but I can tolerate them now. My complaint is with my last domain sold there, they hadn't sent me the push info I need to give them the domain. I'm still waiting but I know they had a fire awhile back and everything's going slower now. Yet, I'm still waiting...

GGY.net might be better than, say, QZS.com. What LLL.com did they reject? You might have far more luck with GGY.net. I recommend, though, that if you aren't in a hurry to sell, keep GGY.net (sell the others, if you want) for awhile. I wouldn't be shocked to see any-random-3-letter .net sell for mid $x,xxx in a few years -- and GGY isn't even close to random. You could get rich from this one.

Thanks again archangel- I will def hit them up tomorrow. TBH I may just keep all the names as nobody has made a satisfactory offer on any of them. I am surprised at how many people have valued GGY dot net as the most valueable- it cost the least by a significant amount. GOY is a reasonably common surname/name and acronym for things such as Game of the Year, Goal of the Year, as well as the yiddish word. I may give Gek .Net to my bro as he breeds loads of different species of Gecko and may want to build a site on it.
TBH, I am looking for $2k minimum each to sell any of them, i know they are worth more than the few $650-$750 appraisals in this thread.

The LLL.com they rejected wasn't the best, but it was far from the worst also, the woman who emailed me said they would consider starting it in auction for $100 with no reserve- I mean, c'mon, that is just ridiculous!

EDIT: 2 days of stats for Goy .net-
goy.net
US$ 0.69 20 2 % 10.00 US$ 0.34 US$ 34.48 10 Jan 2007

Yeah, hit them up. I've seen 3 letter .mobi sell there for like, $700+ I think it was. A .net would do better.

I still go by my appraisal that it could hit around $5,000. Even if the word isn't used a lot -- how often does a 3-letter dictionary word .net come on the market?

GEK.net is way too brandable. If that one didn't get at least $3,000 in offers, just keep it or give it to your bro. Anything under $3k would be an insult.

All & all, your expectations are realistic. But it'll be hard finding a buyer -- unless you use a place like SEDO and let the buyer find you.

I'm sick of these uneducated appraisals. Pros, don't walk into a thread, spit out a number and walk away. Justify yourself, man!
