I too got a fake offer from philippines IP for one of my domain. We shouldn't blame marketplace here. We (some of the) domainers have been sending these fake offers spamming the whole community. Not good for anyone.

Offers are nothing, payment is the king. I sold 3 domains for 5K and up in the last 12 months, , none were paid. I don't understand why people do it: to steal our data?: Marketplaces are guilty with this, they are warned, but don't take action. Buyers should pay $1 upfront first and that money should go to the seller in case of cancellation, before paying 10K.

...
But yours is porbably real, so, cogratulations to both parties.

I like your idea to pay $1 to make the offer
Clearly I was not paid, it was a fake offer

The secret to dealing with trolls, time-wasters, and non-payers on Dan.com is:

1. Eliminate the "Make Offer" option on your landing pages
2. Use ONLY the "Buy Now" option on your landing pages
3. Price the domain name at a price that you'd be happy selling at with no remorse
4. Ideally, price the domain name below $5,000 so the buyer can use a credit card
5. Supplement the "Buy Now" option with financing – "Lease to Own" over 60 months

Follow this strategy and Dan.com will only contact you with notification of a sale AFTER a payment has been collected from the buyer.

All you have to do is "Set It and Forget It" and wait for the cash to roll in.

We collected $9,600 in February 2020 using this strategy, including one Lease to Own with first $97.50 payment of 60 potential payments collected.

Note: All of the above assumes you are buying the right domain names at the right prices up front, which is really where your money is made.

Thank you, MediaCode!

I'm wondering what NP would look like if everybody started sharing the 'offers' they got.

Good luck on the payment. Ive had 5 of these "sales" through DAN landers this month alone... All sitting as unpaid/cancelled. Shame the "legally binding agreement" isnt as serious as it sounds.

@Michael Ehrhardt, I got a similar offer from a guy named Ivan with a Greek IP too.

I'll send you a pm.

These Are Not What I Would Call Domainers In The Slightest - These Are Spammers/Scammers/Trolls.

These Idiots Dont Deserve Any Other Title.

Did you ever receive a 10.000.000 offer ? I did for my 1stgin.com domain ! A lot of zeros, even less would have been very welcome.

I like DAN and the Team and appreciate their support, they have nothing to do with this, and can do nothing to stop fake offers, clearly it is impossible to file a lawsuite for every case and it should be the domain owner the first to act.

Thank you DAN for the opportunity to receive ANY offer, who knows ?

I'm still waiting for my 10.000.000 and in the meantime enjoy a mojito.

hearth attak, this is not the right job if you are not in good health. According to what I see to make domaining it is necessary before all a low-fat diet and almost 1 hour of fitness every day. Best of all if you are vegetarian (for blood pressure). Now I understand why many successful domainers are always photographed on the beach, it's for job training, not relax.

Replying to myself. For clarification I must say these were on Godaddy, Sedo and Dan, not all on Dan. All marketplaces seem to suck in at least one way.

If he paid I would be retired from domaining and travelling the globe..
I think he entered his phone number instead of the offer

I'm laughing out loud. :xf.grin:

You're playing with fire making posts about big sales. Great way to jinx yourself.

No sale is complete until the money hits your account.
