Google update in process

On a few forums I have noticed that google update seems to be happening

My site www.onebillionviews.com has a predicted PR of 4 or 5 ) finally... I just hope it gets caught in this google update

As you all probably know, when checking PR for a site you often get different PR if you use the WWW in front of your domain as opposed to not using the WWW. Many of my sites that have PR withthe WWW have NO PR WITHOUT the WWW.

So which is the "real" PR?

I mean, let's say you are looking to trade links or to sell links from your site. Which PR will people pay attention to?

This can be fixed with a .htaccess file containing:

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain.ext [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.ext/$1 [L,R=301]

On Apache servers this is a 301(perm. redirect) -- winders servers I don't know or care.

I noticed the update too.

My site has been going up and down.

Yesterday it was Pr4 and today it says its PR5.

If this works then if you enter in your address bar xxx.ext you will see it change to www.xxx.ext

There are lots of things that can be done (I am no expert) I use it to redirect traffic instead of parking via c-panel. Do not forget it is [dot]htaccess

I notice that this is now happening at NamePros. http://namepros.com now redirects to http://www.namepros.com

I understand this is also good for SEO.

Biy do I hate when Google updates are in session. I don't know if it's coinicidence or what becasue I do not have good rankings or anything, but during updates my traffic always goes down and adsense clicks suffers as well.

I have even had recorded clicks taken away, earnings and all. I find that strange. Not much. Just a click here and there. I feel cheated when it happens, though.

I've been meaning to checkout YPN but I hate the thought of having to change the code on my sites. But I hear YPN's payout per clicks are higher for the most part, which doesn't surprise me.

I don't like this update, my www.host4free.info has PR2, but www.host4free.info/index.php has PR3 and many other pages have also PR3 (like search.php, faq.php, host212.html...). I really hope Google changes that soon

Just checked, get same on my end. Wonder what the heck Google is doing. Guess their new data servers must be hiccuping big time.

My sites are showing PR of 4 and 5 and are still PR of 4 and 5 after 24 hours.

Will it stay stable?

I would be happy even if it stays on 2 or 3.

Mine is showing in google toolbar.

In my internet explorer and Forefox. :D

And it is constantly showing a PR of 4.

that's good. so is ours. but we use https nowadays so you normally cant see it. It counts the same regardless for search results etc..

Some sites show many pages indexed in google and then they show no pages indexed and sometimes just the home poage. Whats the deal? This could drive a person onkers!
