Following the recent PR update my inner pages went from PR0 to PR4, but yet my index page, which was PR1 stayed at PR1
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks in advance

Frequently the URL of your landing page is not the same as the internal links to the home (index) page.
Just place a index.html (temporarily) and test your PR.

McDot said:Actually, at a quick glance of your back links, I can not see any justification for the PR4 on your subpages. I only see a couple of PR2 back links to your landing page. This would normally give a PR1 (max 2) to your index page, and 0 (max 1) to your subpages.
There must be a PR4 or 5 back link to one of your subpages somewhere. This would the cause your PR4.
You will need to do a little investigation there.
PS
Your internal links to "home" are not consistent. Sometimes they point to index.htm and sometimes they point to the domain name without index.htm.
The following is just what I have derived by recent observations.whitebark said:Yeah, google is acting a bit weird - or is it the tools to test for pagerank that are weird?
Example - www.bodybeautiful.ca - I bought it off a .ca drop as a PR4. I suspected I would lose the PR on the first update because I was changing the site from what it was.
Today on my google toolbar on firefox it says it is still a PR4. The google toolbar on my IE says it is a PR3. Now if that isn't bad enough:
checkpagerank.com/ - says it is a PR7
pr.blogflux.com/index2.php - says it is a PR0
seologs.com/pr-check/pagerank.html - also says a PR0 and valid as in not faked.
linkvendor.com/seo-tools/pagerank-check.html - claims the site is a mirror - which it is not.
I figure it is a PR0. But who really knows?
Thanks for your observations!hark said:The following is just what I have derived by recent observations.
I have been monitoring several sites closely during this update. It seems (from SEO Future Rank) there are 16 seperate IP's/servers including the toolbar where most PR checkers get the value. These values are changing all the times. I have seen one site 'toolbar' value change from PR0 to PR6 several times in just a few hours.
I think nothing can be 'set in stone' until all 16 servers show same value. I also think that the end of this update is near.
