It's about time.

The Good news is that the Quantity of advertising will be spread among fewer domain now and so those domain owners that actually own real full domains should receive more money if bid prices start to rise.
Even if Yahoo! takes over, it'll only show they're taking leftovers from the master's table.

This probably won't kill domain tasting (somebody else and their ad network is going to take over and fill the void no doubt), but it does stop it in its tracks somewhat now that the biggest, easiest moneymaker for them is out.

The tasters prob have enough money now to cut out the middle man. :'(

Interesting idea. Depending on the taster, it could make things more costly.

it wont stop it but it may help to slow it down as it will be harder to monetize the domains

This won't harm domain tasting at all. Domain tasters could still taste the domain to see if it receives traffic, then after five days start monetizing it.

yes but traffic dosnt mean clicks i have caught quite few domains high in traffic that couldn't be monitised (SP?) cos they were bots/"owned" computers phoning home

I really think this policy will serve the Google Adsense clients well but it won't put a dent on domain tasting. domain tasters really grab a domain name and probably study the amount of traffic the domain name is receiving within that 5 day period. If there is no traffic then they will drop it, if there is traffic (good amount), they will find a way to monetize (after 5 days Google will pay!).
