As part of the deal, Google will pay $900 million (£472 million) to News Corporation to provide the search technology on MySpace (and a string of other sites owned by News Corp's Fox Interactive Media) for three years and nine months. Plus, Google will sell banner and text ads on the sprawling site, which last month was ranked as the most popular site on the web among American internet users. This recoups the $580 million (£300 million) the media company paid for MySpace last year, and makes a big dent in the $1.3 billion (£680 million) it has spent on internet acquisitions in the past year.

In terms of hits, I tend to get more of them on Google than Yahoo.

Quality-wise, can't say for certain which is definitely better yet, as I don't often use Yahoo.

Any comments from those who use both regularly, pros and cons?

Actually I am finding the new Yahoo page is pretty nice. Also MSN results aren't half-bad.

I got hooked on Google 5 years ago, and I'm looking to 'break the habit' really soon. IMO, their search results and quality were much better 5 years ago.

I received more traffics to my websites from Yahoo than Google.

To be honest MSN is a much better search engine then google, the spiders are much more efficent and the results it gives are so much better. Much easier to get indexed etc.

MSN results are all "controlled".. If the site has anything to do with Microsoft they are number one. Which is really stupid. All the search results are all controlled and not allowed to be free. As Google and Yahoo are. If you get what I mean. It is kind of hard to explain. Yahoo and Google are the only really search engines that do not edit there search results based on how much money they can make off it.

Yahoo seems to be getting better and better. I do love Yahoo :D. Espcially there new Web Based Email system. GMail is excellent aswell. Though they are starting to get like MSN and they are starting to not care about the average client. Insted they care about who can make them the most money. Though defently not asmuch as MSN is. Yahoo still has an excellent CEO. They are not trying to take over everything and try to own all the markets as Google and MSN are. They are a search engine and a web hosting provider, domain register and they also have a few other free services like Geocities,etc.. But like everyone else.. There search engine results arn't the best. They do alright but for a key web-digger they arn't great.

MySpace.. Is in a extremely insecure market. The ability to sue MySpace for things like Child Rapist,etc is very possible. That is why Google nor MSN want to really buy it. Sure Google would love to though a bunch of Adsense all over them but.. Would it be worth the risk? My guess is no.
