Google PR finally Updated

Hello all, well Google PR is finally updated, i got pr4 from pr0 at GameCheats.eu :D i was expecting PR5 tho i had submitted it to gazillion places :S, my other site got pr2.

My LDS Singles site dropped from PR4 to PR2 despite nearly 700 indexed pages and backlinks too...I hope the update is not over...

Google won't MESS UP, and a site going down is not an indication of it being a mess up or incomplete either.

It also depends on the QUALITY of the links that are linking back to your website and how it matches search queries by using text on the pages. It is not about the amount of hits it receives.

If loads of sites go up, then some must come down. Otherwise the system would be pointless beyond belief. Because the better sites show a higher ranking than the worse ones.

It's just a case of the PageRank system being an indication that you have to do more than you have already done.

In the end, it all boils down to the aim. PR10. Perfection.

Sites go up and go down with hits... it is the same with PR. It goes up and down and as you work at it, it gets better and better.

PageRank is your friend.

Bummed out- all my sites stayed the same (mainly pr2's) apart from http://www.domaininglinks.com which plummeted froma pr5 to a pr2. This perhaps wouldn't sting so much if I hadn't forked out $150 to "improve" the site after the previous update. Still, pr isn't everything...

In reality, it is probably G changing what "Good" and "crap" means again. We are like cats chasing a preverbial tail.

If G really wanted to effect a change in the way that people build and market their websites, which is the underlying reason for a ranking system to begin with, they wouldn't keep their PR algorithm such a secret.

Why make good people guess and fail and delay the whole process, when one could just reveal the master's current definition of what good means.

Don't do evil...yeah right...

I have two site I put up in the last 3 months, one now has pr=4 and the other pr=2 (sort of abandoned this one). Not sure what this means to me though. One of the sites makes money everday, so I why would I care about the page rank as long as it keeps making money?

Care more about keyword ranking than PR. You're right, if you are making money and ranking well in the SERPs, there's no reason to worry about PR.

Nearly fell outa my chair cause www.blookbits.com shows a PR4 and www.discussblooks.com shows a PR3.

1) I don't use the word "sucks". I'm English.

2) I dont even KNOW your site... so I can't/didn't say that it was bad. But the PR is an indication that you need to do more.

3) It isn't about the number of pages on your site.

4) If you hate PageRank and Google so much, why care?

It's like I said originally. All of these systems are indications which webmasters can use to hone in on different areas of their site to aim for the main goal. Which is lots of hits. There are many methods of getting the right amount and types of hits.

If your decrease in PageRank is disturbing to you... it looks like the system is working. This kind of system prompts people to keep working at their sites. Like a sort of indirect constructive criticism.

There is no harm in it at all.

My site Makeaquiz.net and domain Createaquiz.net are now both ranked PR4. They will probably go up and down. But the average user doesn't know or care about the PageRank system. It is to help ME, not my visitors. If it goes down... then it makes me want to do more.

There's no point in just sitting there and sulking about it, it's there to help.
