Just curious to see what you other domainers are using these days for tools after google changed the way they present the number of Avg. monthly searches specific keywords receive are. The range they give now is very wide for example - 10k - 100k searches/ monthly.

There are no free tools like KP any more.

Even the free versions of the paid tools suck.

Just Google "keyword tools" and take your pick.

The top results are the top tools in the field.

Most have a free version that is very limited.

Try them all and compare interfaces and prices.

Then just pick your favorite combo of features and price.



You could also just start and fund a campaign at the Keyword planner too.

For small searches, I use serps.com/tools/keyword-research

Keep in mind that keyword planner has never given you accurate data, but only statistical data. In my experience, I have never faced situations where accuracy was essential. When I use GKP, I simply take the average between the 2 bracket data, and I think it's good enough.

I cannot attest to its accuracy, but the Moz Keyword Explorer is pretty easy to use. The free version has some limitations, but it is still useful for the average keyword-conscious blogger. For one thing, the search volume range is much tighter. For more advance users, there's a one month free trial option.

There's a Chrome extension "Keywords Everywhere", it's free, and you can even do a bulk search, but I don't know how accurate data is.
