Read this from Search Engine Land that Google Site Search is a paid product that lets you power your internal website’s search engine based on the Google search technology. Google charges based on monthly query volume for the product.

Shucks! Google is just making it free to use. I think the site search will give the same results, they will just carry ads at the top and on the side.
