We are mostly dissatisfied with the service parking companies offer having tried most of the popular ones. However we have been unable to acquire a google domains account of our own and are now looking for a company which has one to provide us with the basic default google supplied parking pages (see below) and full transparency on google commissions. We of course are happy to set a mutually agreeable percentage cut. We currently have around 300k+ uniques pm.

Please PM or post replies.

Would be interested in any true 'open' parking companies, or forming one ..

my primary requirement is transparency - you are correct that the google stock optimisation is sometimes wayward. But I do not see any particular improvement with parked, sedo pro over some registrar's simpler approach - GD for example who supply the default feed, but who at least seem to give a larger % of the click revenue. I believe the parking companies are taking exorbitant (extortionate) margins which simply cancels out any advanced optimisation they may be doing, and I have gathered some evidence of this. With some pressure from domainers this could change .. there really is opportunity here for a new player I think.

As I say if anyone wants to test out a new business model you can have my portfolio for starters.

cheers

OK I'll raise the bar here. If you have a large portfolio with significant uniques and would be interested in pooling resources in order to set up a 'private' parking group - and apply for a google domains account - then please PM me.

The deal would be simple - full transparency on google revenue and freedom to customise your own parking area , subject to provider terms.

I know the big players have their own feeds but there must be some of you with 100k-500k uniques who could improve your parking income substantially?

We currently control around 50k domains.

thanks

I believe that Google for domains are no longer accepting new applications. I looked into it last year. Apparently it's not just a question of volume.

What about a Yahoo feed? If you don't like the thought of a monopoly, any alternative to Google has to be a good thing. Or better still, try to come up with a different method of monetising domains.

There's got to be something that no-one else has thought of...

attracting advertisers is all about critical mass - this is an enormous hurdle to starting a new advertising network/platform

but yes - you are right of course - some new ideas in parking would be very welcome, both by domainers and poor internet users who have to suffer the current parked pages drivel ..

The thing is it can get accomplished with the right marketing strategy and motivation.

This is the very reason I have started my parking co.

Google and Yahoo have the domain industry by the ***** so to speak. Its their advertisers so those 2 have all the say so on who, what, and where in the industry.

Will another company compete with the likes of google and yahoo as far as name and market strength? Most likely not. Will a new start company make the 2 major players take notice. Lets hope so.

The domain industry needs a company that will standup for the everyday domainer to allow domainers the same marketing aspects as the big boys.

Example:

Google and now more recently yahoo has pretty much dis allowed any type of promotions of a parked domain. Yet thier biggest players can promote all day long.

IE:
ASK.COM A major Search Engine with a google feed
Info.com A major player in arbitrage with a yahoo feed

These are just 2 of many that promote all day long in the 1st and 2nd level.

My take on that is allow a domain owner the same luxury as the big boys. Take away the " NO PROMOTIONS ALLOWED" and let a domain owner get traffic " HIGH QUALITY" and let the advertisers know of it.

I am hoping many advertisers will welcome their ads on a parked domain and with a company that allows the domain owner to get the high quailty traffic to the domains. That's ultimatly what the advertiser is paying for. Conversions, conversions, conversions, thats what a advertiser wants he does not gives a rats *** where the traffic is coming from as long as at the end of the day he gets his sale, lead, or potentail customer.

The revenue will be very ordinary on this design, totally dated stuff. Try Trafficvalet.com if you really want to go down this route. They pay 95%-100%, of whatever they get. I doubt you will find anyone willing to tell you the rev share they get due to NDA's with Google.

The revenue share is generally stated in the TOS. There is a lot of reasons why PPC revenue is falling and none of it has to do with "extortion" by parking co's despite some domainers liking to think it. Way too much competition for parking companies to wield increased power.

People have been talking about "collective accounts", "standing up for domainers rights", and "taking advertisers directly" for many years and it has never resulted in anything that has actually made people more money than in the past, the end result is generally yet another parking company just like all the others.
