I have never seen a "blacklist" exactly.. what I think they do is just penalize you so badly that its pretty much the same thing.
They will kill your pagerank and/or kill your linkbacks for example.
There are also a few sites google doesnt like for anyone that participates in those types of links programs.. such as "LinksToYou" is one.
PM or post your domain I will take a look.. dont know if it will help but I will look for you if you'd like.

I did some research and figured out why. The previous owner of the domain used it for tricking search engines so it is black listed. The blacklist does exist.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Your page was manually removed from our index, because it did not conform with the quality standards necessary to assign accurate PageRank. We will not comment on the individual reasons a page was removed and we do not offer an exhaustive list of practices that can cause removal. However, certain actions such as cloaking, writing text that can be seen by search engines but not by users, or setting up pages/links with the sole purpose of fooling search engines may result in permanent removal from our index. If you think your site may fall into this category, you might try 'cleaning up' the page and sending a re-inclusion request to [email protected]. We do not make any guarantees about if or when we will re-include your site.

Gee, I know many many sites that try to trick Google with that invisible text trick -- I wonder if the Big G catches a lot of them. Anyway, its nice that Google will give you a second chance to clean up your act...

;)

There are so many sites doing the tricks mentioned and eventually google catches up. Just the risk some people are
willing to take i guess.

Google will black list sites that cheat. I found that out the hard way. I had a site that had half a dozen good listings in google by cheating hidden div tags and a PR of 5. After a few months, it suddenly dropped off google all together. Nothing, no PR, no listings, notta. If your site is/was blacklisted, you can email them when you clean it up and they will remove the blacklisting.

I try to stay up on SEO tips, but make no self-proclaim of being an expert. Having said that, you are welcome to download my index.html page in my signature and study it. I have a number one rank for Amarillo Web Design on several search engines, including google.com.

Proper use of Title, meta tags (though I hear google ignores meta tags, but I'm not convinced of that), H1, H2, H3 tags and bolding keywords AFTER the first paragraph help. Assigning your keywords to image titles/alt text, assigning keyword to your .css file name (keyword.css).
