Google and www.

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to get your feedback on this.

Does Google count www.whatever.com and whatever.com as different sites. In otherwords are they going to get penalised as they contain the same information but Google thinks they are different sites ?
So should you set up a 301 redirect from one to the other rather than just use the DNS to map one to the other ?

Hi Richard,
I remember seeing a thread at DP having this peculiear problem.
If I find it, I will post it here. But 301 permanent redirect would solve this problem along with any PR differences.

there is diffrent in these domains just a www is ommited so i dont think google is going to penalise u but yes pr for both the domain will not be same ... the domain with www will have more PR than without www.
