I`m new to the development stuff,

I am just trying to create a nice Blog and website.

I signed up with G-Analytics , it says there are 2 "tracking codes":

1) Legacy Tracking Code (urchin.js)

Copy the following code block into every webpage you want to track.
Click in the box below to select all code. Copy and paste the code segment into the bottom of your content, immediately before the </body> tag of each page you are planning to track. If you use a common include or template, you can enter it there.

Refer to this tracking code if your site already has urchin.js installed. Please note that urchin.js will not receive feature updates and is not compatible with new features.

2) New Tracking Code (ga.js)

Copy the following code block into every webpage you want to track.
Click in the box below to select all code. Copy and paste the code segment into the bottom of your content, immediately before the </body> tag of each page you are planning to track. If you use a common include or template, you can enter it there.

Use this tracking code to gain access to a wide range of exciting new features as they become available.

How do I install it in a website which will have a blog as homepage?

Thanks

Use the second one as it has/will have many more features and less drag on your site. Place it directly before the closing </body> tag. Most blog software is template driven so look in the template directory for the theme you are using and add it to the proper file. Usually it's called footer.html or footer.tpl or some such thing. If it's not look for the one with the ending tag as noted above and add it in there.
