I've heard that the function in google search link: url to check backlinks is highly inaccurate. Is that true? What do you use to check it?

IMO they're not hiding the backlinks, they're protecting the site? Since their algo use the link as one of its ranking basis that would be an easy access for your competitor to look where your links are coming from and from there they can formulate lots of tactics to catch up against you.dmi said:The "link:website.ext" is inaccurate. They hide things... Use Google Webmasters or Yahoo Site Explorer.
