Well, actually I think the good news is that a few got up to some decent money and pased.

This was one of the worst auctions I have seen. If you were watching the live feed, you will seen when they pan out that there literally is no one there! This could explain all the passes.

And what is up with taking a name like solomonislands.us? Solomon Islands is not even in the US.

Humm, Monikers previous auction success has gone to their heads, this auction is a flop...

I think that this where the current value of .us is...in geographical names (especially cities and states)...until there is more interest and demand for generic (non-geographical) names. Hopefully, that day comes sometime soon.

i agree with namegame, other than for Search Engines, I dont see the generics for .us taking off. However, creating a site with a generic .us is valuable.

In regards to the PASS pricing quoted in the OP, please see post #57 in this thread http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/396804-moniker-geodomain-live-auction.html for my 1st hand observations at the auction. I do not think you can have any faith in the pass pricing at the Moniker auction considering what I saw.
