it depends ...

In general, they're both very useful and attractive namespace "real estate" - short, memorable, brandable, .com, very rare, and currently enjoying decent amount of market buzz.

but IMO it's going to be really hard to beat something like "DoMy" in terms of commercial potential - many compelling possibilities obvious for that one. QXV has decent "branding" potential, but hey maybe someone will offer me QVX for $500 less - I'll take that one instead (and probably would actually prefer QVX even for $500 more, come to think of it.)

"Do My" pronounceable in 2 comfortable syllables vs. 3 for "queue ex vee"

Dooo Myyy nice smooth sounds, easy on the throat - subtly risque connotation but that's okay for a web 2.0 application - in fact would be perfect brand for a web dev related business - "do my dot com"

Queue Ex Vee on the other hand might present a strong, decent "business" image

It would be selling QXV a bit short to insist that the only possible end user would be the elusive Dr. "Quentin Xavier Vanderlay" (he's out there somewhere, don't laugh!) or okay maybe something like "Quality Xylophone Varnish" would fit too ... But treating it strictly as an "empty vessel" without meaningful acronym probably will take some additional branding effort.

seems like "Do My dot com" is going to be hard to beat here ...

Not sure if this is already reflected in current reseller market price for a brandable premium CVCV (let alone the rare case containing 2 short dictionary words) vs "low-frequency" LLL ... but in this particular case I think it would be, possibly by a substantial margin.

For some reason I don't like the look of Domy.com, hence I'd got for a nice, $5.5k QXV.com :)

Domy might not be the best example, but "doma.com" or something along the line would be a better investment than qxv.com imo.

Agreed. A "good" LLLL, in my opinion, is all premium. If someone were to verbally say "domy" to me, I'd type in "domi".

In this case, I'd pick the LLL. Normally, I'd pick the more brandable of the two -- it's easier to remember something like "doma" than "QXV." :imho:

I went with QXV.com.

There are many LLLL.com better than it but I don't think Domy.com jumps out to me as one of them.

LLL.com anyday
Qxz dot com went for 6k at DNF recently. They're increasing in value by $500-1000 per month. Even the worst letter ones (surely you can't get lower than qxz in terms of letter quality).

I would have to go with the LLL.com in this case. The way that the market value these names right now I think most of the time the LLL.com will be easier to sell and you will get higher offers for them.

at this point there is no bad LLL.com

I agree that for this post for comparison domy is a bad example.Doma is exactly what I was thinking would be better before even reading this thread. So if it is something like doma then I will say that it will hold value longer.Basically Im saying that premium llll's will one day surpass the worst of the lll's.IMHO ofcourse

I think that good cvcv.com is better then bad lll.com, because you have better chance to get good offer from end user for good llll.com then for bad lll.com.
