Hey guys!

What do you think about possible value of: Golden-Retriever.com

Name is aged (1996 reg), keywords (with hyphen) are taken in all gTLD's and many ccTLD's

Golden retriever is the 3-rd popular dog breed in US (http://www.akc.org/reg/dogreg_stats.cfm or http://www.cbsnews.com/2300-201_162-10015618-3.html)

From the similar reported sales I found only goldenretrievers.com sold for almost $18K in 2010

What do you think about the name?

Thanks, Nick

It's hard to sell hyphenated domain even if it's a such popular term.
Domain is worth something for sure, but I think that mid $xxxx is max.

Good luck.

this is one of those cases where plural makes better sense than singular. there could be trademark issue if goldenretrieverS is already developed and goldenretriever is trying to skim traffic off the first to market domain.

I see no value in the domain. A quick Google search ie. Wikipedia, can find all the info one would need on this breed.
Also dislike the hyphen.
Best of luck with it.

Thanks for the appraisal too.
Actually can't imagine how the dog breed could be TM'ed

Thank you Larry!
Hyphen is not the problem in my opinion. In some countries it's even more desirable then without it, and the dog breeds usually have simialr names in different languages.

Agree about Wiki, but for example someone paid $18K for goldenretrievers - don't think he never knew about Wiki :)

Thank you much guys again for your feeedback!

Plenty of "Golden Retriever" breeders out there that would like to have the name.

Low to Mid $xxx depending how well you can play the "hyphen" aspect to the end-user.

Good Luck.

The hyphen is not an issue for selling the domain (IMO) it is only an issue on the price. try targeting EU end-users as they do not mind a hyphen that much.

Because of the keyword it feels like limited sale price potential but you can easily set the lower limit at mid xxx.

GL!

It is a good name even with the hyphen, non hyphen would be better but your name is still worth low xxx at least imho.
