Since yesterday i cannot access my GD account. Every time i try to get the 2 factor code sent to my phone it just doesn't come so i am effectively locked out. Everything worked fine until yesterday and i haven't changed anything

I called Godaddy to see if there was a problem and they sent me a form to print out, fill in, sign, scan and send back to them, then wait 24hrs for the two factor to be cancelled off my account. They have no other way of doing this, they cant even confirm my cell number, "they don't see it their end".

I have no problems with them having security measures in place, but this would make me very reluctant to re-enable two factor again in case it happens again, i only enabled it a week ago.

I have called my cell provider to make sure its not a problem with the network, i doubt it is as im getting all other text's. IMO its on GD side or its a problem with there sms provider.

Anyone having the same issue and if so did you get a better resolution than having to fill out a for and wait?

Send me a pm with your account info and I will have the developers check the logs and make sure your code is being sent and not blocked by the cell provider or something.

If you ever feel there is a delay with any 2FA, trying requesting a second code. It usually pushes the first code through, followed by the second straight after.

Then just remember you need to then enter the second code and ignore the first.

When this has happened to me. GoDaddy has offered to send me an SMS instead. This usually has worked. This is provided after you click on Didn't Receive Your Code.

I got resolved, i have to commend godaddy on there fast response and @Joe Styler for his help, thanks joe.

@melisayong i am in Ireland with an Irish phone number, but the network provider outsource a lot to india and the issue seems to be with Indian numbers as india has a very strict do not contact list, the godaddy tech team seem to think i have an indain number so there could be something weird going on at my network provider.

I will post the contents of the email i got from them here in case the information will help you @melisayong, but if you are in india or a country with a strict do not contact list the best thing to do is probable download the form to remove two factor and send it back with ID and they will disable it for you.

Godaddy Email:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting support. I am a member of our Advanced Technical Support team and appreciate you contacting us regarding not receiving 2 step authentication codes. In review of this issue, we have determined the codes are being sent out on our side. It would seem the cause of non delivery is on the carrier's side. We would advise that you reach out to your carrier and inquiry as to why the codes are not being delivered. You would also want to confirm the following:

If your message is marked โ€œSentโ€ or โ€œDeliveredโ€ in Twilioโ€™s logs but wasnโ€™t delivered to the device:

Is it the โ€œToโ€ phone number correct? Itโ€™s always worth checkingโ€ฆ

Does the โ€œToโ€ phone have reception? If not, try moving to a location with reception and try again.

Does the โ€œToโ€ phone receive SMS messages sent from other sources? Try using another phone to send the โ€œToโ€ phone a test message.

Is the phone you are sending to roaming internationally? Twilio is not able to support international roaming for SMS at this time.

Is the โ€œToโ€ phone number on a โ€œDo Not Contactโ€ list for the country or carrier? For example, India has a particularly strict national Do Not Contact list. The โ€œToโ€ number will need to be removed from any Do Not Contact lists before it can receive SMS messages from Twilio.

Does the country you are sending an SMS message to have a special prefix which must be used in order to send an SMS?Mexico and Argentina are examples of this.

Did the end numberโ€™s provider filter it out?Certain carriers will blacklist numbers that are sending a high volume of SMS. Try sending the same message from another Twilio long code. If it is properly received, youโ€™ve likely encountered a carrierโ€™s volume threshold. Check out this FAQ for more information.

Try multiple times. Thereโ€™s no harm in trying multiple times. Trying again is often the best way to prove to yourself and those helping you that you are doing everything correctly. Be sure to copy down the SMS Message SIDs for each attempt which doesnโ€™t arrive.
