Hi everyone...

I'm fairly new to godaddy... I was just wondering if there is a way to transfer a domain to another godaddy user using only their godaddy name.

Thanks.

I would like to know also. It's a hassle having to ask for all that info each time to transfer.

Do you mean push?

I think I know what you mean. By "name" do you mean Login ID?

If so, I'm sorry to report that there is no way to do it. I've complained to them before and they always claim they don't allow it for security purposes. You need to gather all the required infomation and fill out the account change form. Half the time, my customers don't get the GoDaddy emails due to SPAM filters. It's a pain in the @#$.

I've got a lot of domains at Enom and pushing domains to new account is so easy, you just type in their username and you're done.

I know that you can push with others like registerfly but i am not too sure with godaddy.

Use register fly and then transfer the domain from godaddy to registerfly.

There's no push function at Go Daddy, to transfer a name to the new owner's account do the following:

1) First sign into your account and go to My Domains
2) Next put a checkmark in the box by the name you want to transfer to the new owner
3) Then select Change Account
4) You'll then need to put in the new owner's info, such as name, address, phone, etc.
5) They will receive an email from Go Daddy with a couple of codes they need to insert on their account to complete the transfer.
6) You've successfully transferred your domain to the new owner!

Best of Luck,
Chris :talk:

You don't necessarily have to ask the buyer for all his info. I know it can be awkward sometimes.

Instead, just use their email address (all that's required for them to get the approval code sent) and ask them to update the contact information manually themselves. It's always a good idea to double check that stuff anyway, so it's not a big deal for the new owner to fill in his own information.

I don't have a problem asking for the info...

Thanks for the tip -db- I thought you actually had to type in all the info before it would even submit... good to know you can just use their email.

Chris... thanks for the walkthrough, perhaps I shouldn't have said I'm new to godaddy (would've saved you a lot of typing)... I'm new... but I've transfered quite a few domains already, was just wondering if there was a quicker way.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Registar at registerfly.com or any other place that has push...

Registerfly has free push and its very good. It also has transfer.

The only thing godady beats it in is prices...

Well, I should clarify myself. You have to put somebody's info in there. So whenever I have a situation that is awkward, I just put my own info back in there, except for the email address which I put the buyer's email. Then I just ask them to update it after they get control the name.
