Hello all. Which in your opinion is best to sell domains - GoDaddy or Flippa ? Auction or BIN ?

One other place is Sedo but this seems to cater for more expensive domains ?

Any advice gratefully received.

Best,
Paul

Honestly I am new on domaining, I am not an expert and I don't know which one that have more chance for sale. So why I choose godaddy auction!?

Godaddy: it's easy for the process when my domain has sold.
Auction: since I have difficulty on determining a reasonable price of my domain, so I let the buyers to bid.
This is just my opinion as a beginner :D

Its depends!! But still I prefer Flippa for following reasons:

  • Some really domain projecting buyers are there.
  • Traffic is there.
  • End users are there.
and other factors are depends upon the domain name you have!!

I think flippa is perfect for domains in the 1k-20k worth spectrum.

GD, Afternic, Sedo, DNS, Flippa, Namejet (good quality).

Brandables: Brandbucket, Brandroot , Namerific

I've also made like $300 on domains on bido before. Not a huge return but I sold one word cctld's on there for $38 - $99 each.

My advice is to spend a few hours browsing each of these places, check sales lists, etc. and see what would work best for your particular domain.

Oh, we forgot ebay!

Interested to learn more jamaltq. I have auctioned properties on eBay and always found many buyers are timewasters. Did you sell auction or BIN ? Cheap domains or more expensive ?

Some feedback about your selling experience on eBay would be very welcome.

Cheers.

Best,
Paul

eBay Auction is very suitable for LLLL.com, I have got the best sale prices there, better than any other market places.
BIN or Make offer for other domains, just list your domains there and wait for a reasonable offers, it is good for xx-xxx price range.
Regards

I like GoDaddy Auctions better if you're trying to sell to an end user. Since they are the biggest domain registrar in the world, they get a lot of traffic from people looking for a domain name to start a website. They go to GoDaddy and type in the domain they want, and if it's yours that is listed on GD Auctions, the name will pop up and they will see it and be given the chance to buy it. Flippa could never offer this kind of exposure.

From my experience and what I've seen on Flippa, the majority of auctions that are getting a lot of bids and views, are the ones that are getting marketing from outside of Flippa. People will use Flippa as a place to send potential buyers to compete and bid on the a domain. But even with Flippas growing popularity, listing there still doesn't seem to get a lot of views.

This is the way I was thinking too. Most Flippa auctions seems to end unsold but seem to attract 'offers' after the auction has finished ?
