I need to know if anyone has any experience with these, because my question is who makes payment processing if the domain is sold Afternic or Godaddy?

I assume you already know that Godaddy and Afternic are one and the same, but if you list a domain through Afternic and that domain is ultimately sold through GoDaddy, then Godaddy collects the money from the buyer but your payout comes from Afternic.

I also received the very similar mail from GoDaddy this morning.

Does this also mean that there is an inquiry/ offer over the name via Afternic?

If you list a domain on GD then it will be automatically listed on Afternic but not viceversa.
Sometimes those guys are really confusing.

That's strange. I thought I read here on NP recently that adding your domains to Afternic automatically they got added to GoDaddy. Not a problem for me personally, I always list on both. So I'm just mentioning what I read here.

I think you should hop over to godaddy chat support and have a chat with a godaddy rep for official replies as I think this is quite sensitive (money related).

It happens that the domain is carried through Godaddy auction for the term of 90 days. In my case the names are listed on Afternic and reg in other registrars that are not godaddy.
