GoDaddy Hosting Problem* HELP!!

I recently bought a name from someone that was red'd with godaddy. The name was pushed to my godaddy account and when I try to add the domain to my hosting plan, godaddy states that the domain is already in use and to select another.

Godaddy customer support suggested that I contact the seller and have him remove the name from his hosting plan.
The seller and he claims that the domain was never hosted. So, I have a fresh name that I can't host.

Has anyone else ran into this problem and how did you it get resolved?

Tell them to fix the issue or refund your money for hosting. GoDaddy's hosting is terrible anyway. I used them for almost five years and it progressively got worse. Hostgator is MUCH better imo.

If you're set on staying with them, call them and ask to speak with a manager.

Another thought...did the previous owner activate the free site GoDaddy offers? Maybe that is it. Either way, it's ridiculous you have to do the leg work to resolve the problem on their end.

On a couple of names that I've regged recently I got the same error that the domain is already in use. I simply called GoDaddy and told them about it and they fixed it immediately. Try calling again and talking to someone else. Just tell them that you are trying to add the name but it is saying it's already in use and they'll fix it.

try to call them. When you call them, you can tell the support person speaks good English without indian accent. I found email support never works.

I'm hosting on HG for several years now. Never had a problem.

After numerous emails with customer support, someone FINALLY fixed the problem.
