Gnikhsub SEO Contest
OVERVIEW:
This is a “Search Engine Optimization” (SEO) contest where webmasters, SEO professionals and avid bloggers are invited to compete to rank in the #1 position in Google for the keyword “gnikhsub.”*At the creation of this contest, there are no results for this made up word.
While there have been other SEO contests, we are the first to host a SEO contest with a socially- or politically-themed objective.*
The goal of this contest is threefold:
1) To learn how SEO can help organizations use search engines ethically as a tool to increase their visibility on the web;
2) To disseminate factual information pertaining to the impeachment of President Bush; and
3) To further demonstrate how Internet marketing techniques can be applied to achieve political and nonprofit goals.
BLOGGER NOTE:
Experience shows that blogs do well in SEO contests, and it’s a fact that search engines love lots of unique, frequently updated content.*Therefore, if you are a blogger with a voracious appetite for writing and a knack for being “social” (winning respect, friendship and popularity) within the blogosphere you may have just as good a shot at winning the contest as a so-called expert. BENCHMARKS:
Launch Date: September 14, 2006.*This is the date we announce the contest.*Domains for websites must be purchased on or after this date.
Official Start Date:*September 21, 2006.*This is the official start date of the contest.
Selection Date:*January 21, 2007 at 12:00 PM, EST.*This is the date and time we will perform a Google search to determine which sites rank at the top.
Announcement Date.*We will make our best effort to publicly announce the winner within 2 to 5 business days.*We will carefully review the top websites to ensure they are in compliance with our rules.
RULES:
Domain Name.*The domain name of the website you enter in the contest must have a domain name registered on or after the Launch Date of this competition
Content. Your website must summarize, archive, outline, list, and/or opine the various factual grounds in support of impeachment of President Bush. Satire is not permitted.
Link Back.*Your website’s index page must link twice to www.liberalforum.org*using the anchor text: “Impeach Bush” and “President Bush”
PayPal.*You must have a verified PayPal account to receive your prizes.
Email Address.*Your website must publish an email address that we will use for confirmation of your ownership of the site.
Conduct. You may not enter the contest if you do not believe that Bush should be impeached or to frustrate the goal of this contest. You may not spam, use unauthorized content or use black hat SEO techniques.*By entering this competition you agree to indemnify, defend, release, and hold the Contest, its owner Edisonian Innovative Works, LLC, LiberalForum.org, and its associated websites harmless for any claims, damages or liability you encounter as a result of your participation in this contest.
Modification of Terms. We reserve the right to add or modify the terms to ensure a fair contest.
