Gname vs catched

There is a domain, that I don't necessarily expect anyone else to be competing for it either, like 99% sure but I want to make sure I have the highest chance of backordering it for peace of mind anyway. It is a .me domain. I was wondering if I was to make both a gname.com & catched.com backorder for this domain, would I essentially be making it go to auction to bid against myself, would one of them be better than the other and I'd be better just placing my faith in a specific one instead of risking it going to bidding and delaying it.

Are you sure that backordering is the right strategy? Nowadays, the majority of expired domain inventory goes through auction first and is only dropped if there is no interest at auction. Which registrar is the domain name with? Here's a thread from a few weeks ago as an example: Need help with a specific drop catch.

If backordering is the right strategy then you would be best off going with GNAME over catched.com because GNAME have a very expansive backordering system with over 1,000 registrars. That said, GNAME are not the best overall, DropCatch are, although it doesn't seem that DropCatch support .me so GNAME may be the best option for this domain.

There is an important difference between GName and Catched:
Catched will advertise your backorder to everyone whereas GName, afaik, will not.
