Hey there, awesome forum folks!

Hope everyone's doing fab. I'm Rex, and I couldn't resist jumping into this buzz about the latest domain registrar rankings. You folks are onto something super cool here!

The latest data published by ICANN from Verisign's report covers the month of April 2023. As we all know, the domain industry is dynamic, and these rankings reflect the trends in registrations and management. Here's a quick rundown of the highlights:

  1. GoDaddy.com: Still holding the crown, GoDaddy secured the first place with a whopping 799,939 new .com registrations in April. Their consistent performance is noteworthy.
  2. Namecheap Inc.: Continuing to make their mark, Namecheap takes the second place with 281,785 new registrations. Their user-friendly interface might be contributing to their success.
  3. Google Inc.: With 231,422 new registrations, Google maintains a strong presence in the domain industry.
  4. Newfold Digital+: Another familiar name, Newfold Digital, secured the fourth spot with 186,042 new registrations.
  5. Gname.com: Gname.com made a remarkable leap to the fifth position with 165,072 new .com registrations. I
  6. Tucows: Holding strong, Tucows secures the sixth spot with 155,112 new registrations.
  7. Alibaba: Alibaba remains in the game with 111,377 new registrations.
  8. CentralNic: CentralNic follows with 102,755 new registrations.
  9. NameSilo: NameSilo rounds out the top ten with 79,086 new registrations.
  10. GMO: Completing the list, GMO secured 74,168 new registrations.
But hold onto your keyboards, 'cause we're not just stopping there. Have you checked out that chart for total .com registrations under management?

1. GoDaddy 55,939,965 (56,044,730 in March 2023)
2. Newfold Digital+ 12,842,673 (12,915,496)
3. Tucows 11,249,936 (11,292,862)
4. Namecheap 9,122,379 (9,072,614)
5. Google 6,796,093 (6,680,045)

Gname.com is climbing up the ranks, and we're currently hanging out at the 10th spot with 3,692,471 registrations.

Now, who's up for a friendly challenge? ICANN's report has this sneaky hint that we might just overtake CentralNic in the next round. It's like a digital showdown, and we're totally game for it. Who's with us? πŸ’ͺπŸ‘Š

And speaking of being in it to win it, you might be wondering what's fueling this Gname.com rocket ship. We're all about easy peasy customer vibes, innovation that keeps you on your toes, and a sprinkle of that extra something that makes us, well, us. We’re like the BFFs of the domain world – always here to make things fun and straightforward.

Okay, real talk – we love your curiosity. We're totally up for spilling the beans (well, most of them). While we can't spill the entire scoop, know this: Gname.com's crew is all about staying ahead of the curve. Whether it’s tech trends or giving you top-notch service, we’re on it like pixels on a screen. πŸ˜‰

Thanks a bunch for letting us crash this chat and share in the excitement. We're all ears – what do you peeps think about Gname.com's journey so far? Any wild guesses about the secret sauce in our success? Let's keep this virtual campfire burning and swap stories.

Cheers to each one of you amazing folks, and let's keep riding this domain wave together!

Thanks for that information.

I was confused because Gname.com is nowhere to be seen near the top of this list.

https://www.DomainState(.)com/top-registrars.html

But, when I checked ICANN for accredited registrars there are (150) different Gname registrars.

They are named -

Gname 1 Inc
Gname 2 Inc
Gname 3 Inc
All the way up to 150.

That is probably why the stats are messed up on DomainState.

I assume all these are under the umbrella of the registrar Gname.com Pte. Ltd.?

What kind of innovation?
Hey VadimK,

Great question! When we talk about innovation at Gname.com, we're not just talking about a single big thing – it's a whole bunch of small yet significant improvements that come together to create an exceptional experience for our users.

For starters, we're all about innovating our operation model. We're constantly exploring ways to streamline processes, making it quicker and smoother for you to register and manage your domains. Efficiency is key, and we're always on the lookout for ways to make things simpler for you.

But it doesn't stop there – we're also pretty jazzed about innovating in customer service. We want to go beyond the ordinary and provide you with top-notch support that stands out. From lightning-fast responses to helpful guidance, we're always working on giving you the best service possible.

So, innovation at Gname.com is really a combination of all these efforts and more. It's about creating a domain experience that's not just run-of-the-mill, but something that resonates with you. We're here to push boundaries and keep raising the bar!

Feel free to ask if you have more questions. We're all ears and excited to chat!

Cheers,

Hey Brad,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts. We really appreciate your interest and keen observation. 🧐

It's true that the presence of multiple accredited registrars can sometimes lead to variations in reporting across different platforms, like DomainState. We totally understand how that could create some confusion. The domain world is a dynamic one, and numbers can sometimes take on a life of their own!

If you're curious about our current standings, you might want to check out the official list from. This might give you a more accurate insight into our diverse network.

Once again, thanks for diving into the details – we're always here to clear things up and have awesome discussions with folks like you. If you've got more questions or insights, feel free to drop them here. Let's keep the conversation going!

Best,
Rex

I've heard that there are US companies managed by Chinese.
So, this shouldn't be a surprise!

Besides, the majority of Singaporeans are Chinese followed by Malay and Tamils.
Chinese is one of the official languages of SG (including English, Malay and Tamil).

Hey alcy,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! You've raised a valid point about how offering standout promotions can really set a registrar apart. We completely agree that the domain industry can get pretty competitive, and unique offers that truly add value can make all the difference.

Your idea of a $1 com transfer promo is interesting – it's a great example of a simple yet attention-grabbing offer. We're always looking for ways to enhance our users' experiences, and your feedback is valuable in guiding our approach.

We appreciate your keen observations and your reference to tldes.com. It's clear that users are seeking opportunities that provide genuine benefits in these challenging times.

While we can't promise anything just yet, your input is noted, and we'll certainly keep your suggestion in mind as we explore ways to connect with our users and offer promotions that resonate.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective! We appreciate it!

Best regards,
Rex

Hey Namingfy,

You've brought up an interesting point about the diverse management structures of companies. You're absolutely right – in today's interconnected world, it's not uncommon to see companies with operations managed by teams from different countries.

And you've hit the nail on the head regarding Singapore's rich cultural tapestry. The blend of cultures and languages is a unique aspect of the country, and it's fascinating how different communities coexist harmoniously. The linguistic diversity certainly adds to the vibrant fabric of Singaporean society.

Thanks for sharing your insights and adding depth to the discussion. We're here to learn and engage, and your perspective is truly valuable. If you've got more thoughts to share or questions to ask, feel free to keep the conversation going.

Best regards,

unless u follow up your 1usd promo with good renew prices of course many will leave after 1yr... but many will also stay... either way your aim is always good prices.. make sure ui is good..fast easy etc.. right now the best ui is sav.com... should be standard for all to follow.... if u avg out they have best prices too. check it out.

It is a good thing if there is no monopoly and your first steps are promising. However, there are basic functions that are not existing/functioning properly and without these, it will be difficult to shake up the domain scene.

- cannot easily get auth codes, maybe it takes more clicks than the notorious Network Solutions transfer out tricky pages
- there is no transfer approval button, one have to create a ticket to expedite the transfer. This is practically a deal breaking for me
- maybe not just your fault but you have no holding account with Afternic/Dan so domain sales are impossible for a long time after registration/transfer

So don't just focus on acquiring domains and customers but also support the main goal of these acquisitions, the selling part.

Hey alcy

You're absolutely on point – offering competitive renewal prices is just as important as attractive promotions. We're committed to providing value not just upfront, but throughout the entire journey.

Your feedback about maintaining good prices resonates with us. It's our aim to strike that balance between affordability and quality service. And you're right, a user-friendly interface (UI) is a game-changer. We're continuously working to ensure our UI is fast, easy to navigate, and responsive to user needs.

Thanks for highlighting sav.com – we'll definitely check it out and take cues from their approach. UI standards are crucial, and it's great to have role models in the industry to learn from.

Your insights are appreciated, and they help us fine-tune our strategies and offerings. If you've got more recommendations, thoughts, or questions, we're all ears. Let's keep the conversation flowing!

Best regards,
Rex

Hey Zsolt Bikadi,

Thank you for sharing your valuable insights. Your observations highlight some crucial aspects that we need to address to enhance the overall experience.

You're absolutely right – while we're working on shaking up the domain scene, it's essential to ensure that basic functions are smooth and hassle-free. Your feedback regarding auth codes, transfer approval, and domain sales through Afternic/Dan is incredibly valuable. We're committed to refining these areas to provide a seamless experience.

Authenticating domain transfers and facilitating sales are integral to our mission, and we appreciate your feedback as it guides our efforts to improve. We're dedicated to ensuring that our users not only acquire domains but can also smoothly navigate through the entire process.

Your insights will certainly help us fine-tune our approach. If you've got more thoughts, recommendations, or questions, please don't hesitate to share. Your engagement in this discussion is truly appreciated.
