I don't buy it. There's no way .cn and .de have more registered domains than .net.
I doubt these stats are accurate.

The figures below are a combination of those from a few reliable sources. The gTLD figures are from a few sources and the ccTLD figures are from the relevant ccTLD registries:

The cnoib figures are from www.dailychanges.com and the other figures are from www.hosterstats.com/DomainNameCounts2008.php and the figures for the ccTLDs on HosterStats are drawn directly from the ccTLD registries. The figures you've quoted are out of date by a few months. Getting accurate figures is actually a lot tougher than it looks. That asiaregistry site you've referred to is not reliable because it does not keep the figures up to date.

Cannot say "wrong", you can say not updated.

I've changed it to 'Out of date'. Most ccTLD registries only publish a single figure for each month but others (like .nl, .be, .eu and .de) have live counts. They publish their own figure for the preceeding month around the second week of each month.

The gTLDs tend to update their zonefile twice a day. This is why some .com figures for a particular day one one site might differ from another.

As for the stats on .ws and .cc, I contacted the registries for those ccTLDs. I haven't heard back from the .ws registry and .cc registry cannot supply figures. The figures quoted for 01 December above are, with the exception of .in, taken from HosterStats. The .cn, .de and .uk figures are actually those for 30 November 2008. (.cn .de and .uk and a few other registries publish their figures for the end of the each month.)
