Many people try to quit smoking but fail and many people around us end up with lung cancer, NamePros is like a family to all of us and we don't want to lose anybody.

Every time i have a cigarette I'm going to purchase a cancer ribbon, To punish my wallet and help out the cancer researchers. The aim of this is for you to stop smoking and even if you sneak that one before bed, You should purchase a ribbon and know you should try quit. (I'm not saying everyone has too)

I've purchased one ribbon so far from a cigarette I've had today and I know I can beat this.

Who's with me on this? Its a great cause and helps with your health :]

I'd love to quit smoking :'(
I actually went to the doctor and got that
prescription for Chantix, haven't started
it yet.

But soon.....yup, soon....... :-/

How long have you smoked James? (30 years for me)

Bought my ribbon to support the cause :)

Great idea, James! :tu:

It's really better for you to stop as soon as you can while you're still young. I'd hate to see you run into problems later. D-:

I'm sure you can do it (and you, too, mis_chiff)!

I in fact quit smoking 8 months ago but my bad.. I have started again for almost 1 month and now again trying to quit it..

The main reason I am not able to quit is because 7-11 is located in my condo lobby.. :D

But I am sure that I can quit this again for ever..
btw.. James what ribbon are you talking about?

I know I have to quit
I'm about a pack a day.... :tri:

Don't become a regular! 5 a day, while not an ideal situation
is better than 25!
Stress can be a really bad excuse (I've been using it for years)

That's $3285 a year, keep us updated on the Chantix, I need to quit myself.

I'm about to embark on my first day as a non smoker today...hopefully....tried before (with less than stellar results) but as any smoker here will tell you, it's hard.

Wish me luck

James/Knives....what are you doing smoking...you're too young to do that to yourself

If I can give you one piece of advice I would tell you to avoid being around smokers, if possible.

I stopped 3 1/2 years ago, after being a smoker for 16 years. I had tried patches, nicotine chewing gum, the works. Nothing worked because I was always around people who smoked and eventually I cracked.

I then decided that the next time I took some vacations I would try again, avoiding smokers and nicotine substitutes (which in my opinion still keep you hooked), thereby avoiding the temptation. In the end I guess it was will power that did it for me.

Good luck to all! :)

I've been smoking on and off for 2 years. I'll probably try quiting again soon. My best success has been with smoking hand rolled for a short period. For some reason the addiction isn't as high.

Stripclub :o not me :hehe:
$9 bucks now, when I started they were .85 cents ;)

Good luck to those that are thinking of quitting.
I know (for a fact) it's not easy!
But in today's day and age...it's the healthiest choice!

Thanks James for starting this thread, shows no one is alone
in this quest and support can be found in the oddest of places!
