Gift for a toddler?

I know we've got some wonderful parents in here (because you've mentioned your kids ever so often :D ). My nephew will be turning 2 in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what to give him. I don't know much about kids.

What do 2 year old boys go for (that can be posted, because I'm in another country)?

My nephew loves to play with the pots and pans in my house... that and papers... Oh - and he seems to love playing with remote controls, so we had to find an old one for a VCR (wow - anyone use those anymore ) and let him play with that...
