Getting started - Park, or develop right away?

Hi. I'm new to all this and the stickied posts & newbie guides have been VERY helpful... but I still have a few questions. I recently got 25 new domains - all .coms (except for 2), with a mix between those targeted at certain industries (legal and music) and few random ones I might keep for personal projects.

I'd like to develop some of them to see what sort of response I get, but in the meantime, I'm thinking of parking the whole lot on Sedo or Namedrive to let them gather a little traffic...and also so I can familiarize myself with with how the "system" works...PPC, CTR, etc...

My questions:

- Originally, I thought it would make more sense to develop each site. Parked sites don't keep anyone's attention for very long (thank goodness for the people who click the links, but I just usually hit the back button as soon as I hit a parked site). Particularly with the legal domains, I was envisioning making a great template, using a mix of original & relevant content and dynamic content from feeds, building traffic, and shopping it around to potential end-users...

...But I don't know whether that's more headache than it's worth.

What would be great is a parked site where I have more control over the template (any companies you can recommend for that?)

-Is there any downside to temporarily parking a site I might choose to develop later on? I know it can't be indexed in search engines or directories while it's parked...so it seems like NOT parking (and developing) might be better in order to develop a deeper collection of links over time.

- I don't have 4500+ domains, so I might get rejected from some of these companies. Should I host the sites on my own at first to gather some traffic?

- Is there a downside to posting domain names (like in the appraisal forum)? I'm assuming people do that once they're safely in their possession. I just want to know if there are negatives I haven't considered...like domain hijacking or links that could eventually be bad, should a domain be developed.

Thanks, guys! I'll keep reading the tips for novices...everything I've seen here so far has been really helpful. :)

.US domains.US domains
as long as you have plans to flip it right away but 3 days won't hurt just to see the traffic and the ppc%

it's a lot of domains i thought you're just starting btw. the ultimate answer is of course domain development.

im sure there are negatives to everything but posting it for appraisal will in fact help you sell it faster, who knows like in my experience just posting it on appraisal ended up for me a private sale.

If you are looking to sell your domains straight away then you are best trying to sell for low prices and also contact end users!

If you are looking for the long term develop the names if you can otherwise park them and make cash - CTR!

I hope it helps, feel free to rep me if this helped!

parking for now

Thanks for the replies...

For now I'm parking at Namedrive. It had the quickest and easiest sign-up process out of the ones I looked at. I doubt I'll get much traffic relying on type-in, however, because most of these domains are brand new, and not being allowed to publicize them, there's not much I can do.

I don't want to try to sell without decent traffic + PR (or at least SOME indexing in major engines), so for that I'll have to eventually develop. I wanted to try parking, but so far it looks like I'll be lucky to make .25!

I'll list my acquired domains over at the appraisals forum (not for linking purposes).
