Getting blacklisting removed

In the past I've tended to igniore domain names with problems, but I've decided to try to clean up a name, and to see if is then saleable. I've just registered MumsLog.com and a few sites report that it is banned by Google and Adsense. Obviously the first things to do are to host the name, and write to Google to tell them it has changed hands. What other steps should I take.

Thanks for that link - it looks as if it is mainly for hacked sites, and this is a brand new site on a different server, but it is worth going through the steps mentioned. I read a site about adsense blocking as well, and I'll try their suggestions to see what happens.

A domain name gets blacklisted for the reasons mentioned there - phishing / malware / spam. Since google allows almost all kinds of site except illegal ones, the domain name you now own should have been blacklisted for one of the mentioned purposes.

The link provides the steps to follow to initiate a google review. You can mention that you are a new owner and the who.is records should prove that with new registration date / registrant details.

As for adsense blocking it could be due to various reasons as they are not usually revealed - on a few cases google reasons out as to why it has been blocked. I have no idea about dealing with white-listing an adsense black-listed domain name. You can mention it along with your email to the review board and they can help you with it hopefully.

Thanks for the advice. I really picked up the name for a quick flip, but I've had an interesting suggestion - one of the advantages of using McDonalds as an office. Mum's Log seems to be ideal for mothers to post diaries of their experiences with their kids. Obviously if I am going to do this, then the site needs to be squeeky clean.

For my 2c worth of opinion. It's virtually impossible to remove all the links to the domain which is banned by Google. Which means it will never get unbanned by Google. I'd find something more productive to do with my time. Believe me. I've tried and failed. It isn't worth all the time and effort. But no matter to me. It's your time

OK - I've found out a bit more. It seems it was parked with Black Knight, and BK is banned from adsense.
So it may not be the content that is a problem. Interestingly, BK seems to be a SEO company.

I purchased a domain at auction that had been flagged (even though it was showing as clean when checked at fail.namewest.com). I was able to successfully get the warning messages removed within 72 hours by submitting to StopBadware.org (a non-profit). Here is the link which you may find useful:

I was intensely searching for the right tool that would actually tell me if a domain name is banned from adsense or not. Guess what, most of the tools out there do not work. Only one worked: https://ctrlq.org/sandbox/

https://ctrlq.org/sandbox/ - I experimented on various domain names and this tool gives accurate results.

As per the tool, and it clearly shows that your domain name mumslog.com is not banned on adsense.

Lets try a banned domain name first. The easy one to think of is a [p 0 r n] domain name
Enter [some p 0 r n domain name]* and hit GO.

Scroll and you should see blank boxes shown. This is a preview and since nothing is shown it is banned.

Now try your domain name. You should see ads displayed.

It works! - Hurrah!!! go celebrate.

I used isbanned.com to check, and that tells me that it's banned from adsense.

I can't find any backlinks for it, so it may be only adsense that is banning it. One site said that it is getting 7 visitors a day, and I don't know how they have discovered that. I've added it to my analytics account, so we'll see what arrives.

One other thing about this name is that estibot valued it at $0 based on the keyphrase " mum slog" which is pretty rubbishy. Others value it based on "mum's log", and put the value at $250. Comparable names are on offer at $2,000 plus. On balance, I'm pleased that I managed to get thre name for reg fee.

Try checking "isbanned.com" for adsense blacklist on http://isbanned.com

You will find the result funny as you can see a pretty big google ad banner on the left side-bar

I tried various tools. None of them work. Either they say "blocked" for all domain names searched or they say "not blocked" for all searches.

you don't have to... isbanned is known for showing the wrong results. I think it was mentioned again in a thread in the past.

Most of the websites I tried show the wrong results as well. It would be great if you could share other sites in your bookmark that actually work so we can have an alternative to go to in the case ctrlq.org goes down for maintenance or any other cases.

well, I found ctrlq accidentally while searching for tools to check the status of domains for parking.
I mentioned some of the tools I found on that thread I talked about earlier but, unfortunately, I can't find it now (it's way too old to be found).

I nowdays use ParkingCrew when I need to check for individual domains (50 domains/day allowed, most reliable tool) and http://fail.namewest.com/ when I need to test in bulk (thousands of domains/day, less reliable).

Note again that the above are tools to check google's parking feed and will not show the correct results for adsense.
