Getting crazier all the time
Another idea I had is for the members get together a true list of premium dot tv names that we would like to see go to a good home and auction them with the help of the .tv corporation/namepros /HRTV other registrars (GoDaddy?) by holding 4 or 5 staged auctions (5-10 premium names at a time) with a charity component.
I'm betting that the forum could put better names up than the last .tv corporation auction but more importantly some good sales would increase the exposure of the TLD and put .tv on the map.
For example (and I am not suggesting these names are for sale):
Auction 1
dvd.tv
shoppingchannel.tv
lcd.tv
...
Auction 2
nineties.tv
channelnine.tv
bollywood.tv
hollywood.tv
dogs.tv
With a starting price of say $5k on the .tv/namepros members auction would anyone with a premium name be interested? Or if you would be interested but not at that reserve, what would your reserve be. For example, I would be happy to put channel7.tv up at $10k but not less.
If there is any interest perhaps we could put that list together and approach the .tv corporation, to see if a deal can be done on ongoing reg fees (for buyers of domain names regged at premium prices (as per their auctions)) and obviously pubicity
