These are two long-held domain that have never been given the time and attention they deserve. After years of considering options, I think it's time to put them up on the auction block.

I'm new to the forum but understand it is the place to go to for honest appraisals.

Thanks in advance.

I like both...although I'm new to the domain game, so I am not able to give an appraisal, just interested in hearing what others have to say. :)

I would say low to mid xxxx (each) at auction and even higher to the right buyer. Great domains!

Welcome to the forum. I would definitely take the appraisals here with a grain of salt. How long has OrdinaryPeople been for sale on SEDO at $10,000? Do you make anything off of Getagrip website? Based on this info I would agree with shigs appraisal

Thanks, All.

grina, I'd forgotten about the SEDO listing. I put that up there year's ago.

I'm considering getting them into the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. silent auction at the end of the month hoping that they'll get bid up relatively high.

I wish I had the time to develop business plans around each domain, but there are too many other things pulling at me.

These are too good for a silent auction they need to be in a "live"- hold until that opportunity arises.

Both should easily be mid $xxxx but with a nice bidding war $xxxxx maybe. End user may well be even higher though would need to be branded- much traffic?

Good luck

Thanks, wot.

I brokered a very large domain sale (private) last year, but I'm pretty green when it comes to other methods. Can you explain what a "live"- hold looks like?

Typically, do the larger domain sales stem from auctions (silent or online) or private?

I think that what happened is that you misinterpreted wot's sentence due to the punctuation. Here's what the sentence looks like if you break it up into multiple sentences:

These are too good for a silent auction, they need to be in a "live" (auction). Hold (onto this domain) until that opportunity arises.

Meaning, that this domain is too good for a silent (without an auctioneer) auction, it needs to be in a live auction (where there's an auctioneer, who can prod bidders to bid higher, and which also has more attention).

As for large domain sales, it really depends. Auctions can bring in tidy sums, but you also don't get to really negotiate on the price (other than the reserve). With private sales, at least you can judge the buyer's intentions and need for the domain, and adjust your negotiations accordingly. However, each has their benefits.

Very helpful, hrethel.

Thanks for the clarification.

I agree that both domains have terrific end-user potential. For some reason, getagrip is very appealing to me. I'm surprised you haven't received any decent offers.
