This may help some people.

Most experts these days will tell you that if you want to be able to sell your products/services you must have some sort of loyal following, whether it be through a newsletter or via social bookmarking means like twitter. Having a good targeted customer base is very important...

How a forum can help your business grow

Cheers.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

yeah long before microblogging and followme-follow you social sites are the forums so it's better to say you have to sell your self first to the crowd before they buy your own products/services, that is establishing a good reputation online will help your business grow.

principle off line as well, birds of the same feather flock together you are who you follow, as they say, so follow everyone who has good reputation. we say here throw the bones and eat the meat.

The trolls and bot signups get really old though.

yeah it's not going to be easy to setup forums, it's part of growing pains, aside from the good ones, bandwidth and hosting space, you need to be prepared for it by hiring staff to help you out.

captcha won't do the trick they usually have more ways to post passing the captcha.

when you grow some and post/promote to some forums as well, bots will come like i said growing pains if you're not prepared with staff to help you out, you find it just closing the forum since it will take most of your time.

I suppose.

We have been up for about 4 days and we currently have 1000+ posts and 40+ members. I have hired a significant amount of staff, so yeah.

not anymore, you can setup your own question! Meaning, when someone registers, you ask them to answer a question....

bots are old news! they no longer can penetrate the walls of VB

a simple question 5+5+20= has done the job for me :)

i won't get that for an audience, setting up forums means you're investing in an intelligent community hoping in the near future it will become a significant nice place to stay on the internet, sharing resources and information.

being in a good forum will get you lots of business contacts/prospects in the long term, that's the bottom line.
