I have a large portfolio - almost 1200 domains that I am trying to help evaluate for my employer. The domains consist of mainly geo + keyword domain names; i.e. anchoragetriallawyers, anchoragehairtransplant, atlantajoblistings, etc basically all cities and states from a-z with mostly attorney/lawyer as the keyword, some painting sites, monetpaintingforsale...dozens of misc other sites which are basically EMDs. 10 one word domains are more dictionary domains, and a handful of two word EMDs. There are also about 129 car/truck domains that sites were developed for and then hosted but they decided to drop the hosting due to costs - sites are mostly city + car/trucksforsale, i.e. atlantatrucksforsale, fortlauderdalecarsforsale, and so on...

This whole portfolio was sold to this person at a large sum per domain before the Google update went live.

With the fact that the portfolio is largely a EMD portfolio, is there much hope of getting above even $500 for each domain? I am a beginner still, learning the ropes for almost a year, reading a lot, I have not had a sale as of yet. They want to auction these sites on Godaddy, etc, but I personally think from observation that these sites would probably only pull anywhere from $10-100 if lucky.

The price that my empoyer paid was close to $xxxx for each domain, as the previous owner showed records of selling his picked domains for over triple what they paid for them. So they thought they were getting a deal, but he was selling out before the update IMO.

Is it better to try to sell organically? I looked at namebio and past sales showed some $xxxx domains but still mainly between $100-500. Is there an auction site that is better for sale of geo/EMDs? It looked like a number where on namejets, but I have not used that site before.
