The 4 names at $5k each were sold off of the HuntingMoon mailer. The flavor name was sold to an end user in the medical flavorings industry who liked the name. We put "This domain is for sale" in the whois & also on the lander with a link to impulsively buy the name via our shopping cart. The credit name sale was completed via our Lease-to-Own program from an end-user who built a new business around the leased name. The tube and cam names were sold to two different buyers on an adult forum the same day we posted them for sale. The mobile name sale came out of the blue via the whois/text link on the lander/shopping cart model.

The sales I've been seeing around here lately by NP members continue to wow and inspire me and give me the push to try harder with my own names. Great job Hunting Moon :)

Thanks for the support, the end of the summer was a little slow, so we were glad to see some names pop off like they have. We have an RSS feed of our recent sales on our site by the way.

Very impressive. I don't buy domains like those; I buy domains that are more obviously generic.

I would not have thought you would have got that many sales from those domains. My hat is off to you. It's kinda' an eye-opener to me to see this, especially since I don't sell domains, just buy them for the most part.

Rep added for posting the sales and the amounts.

how often do you have people wanting to lease a name? and do you offer them any extra security, such as first rights to purchase a name?

good question soggyindo,

we are seeing 1 new lease per month on average since inception. the domains tend to be bigger ticket names, and the lease-to-owners appear to be entrepreneurs/developers. we list the customer as a contact on the whois and point the name to them for the duration of their lease. the terms are 10% down and 9% annual finance charges with no pre-payment penalty. as long as the lease-to-own is active, we will not sell the name to another buyer. the lease is mutually beneficial as we see a premium rate per month for the use of the name & the buyer can analyze their potential for a test period or lock up a name until their funding is more robust...

for full terms- pick any domain at HuntingMoon with a Fixed Price & then hit "Lease to Own Selected Domain(s)". The full terms are available online.

Thanks and the names like Tea Lounge or Opera Hall are very good for a paid directory site. They are still pretty generic even though the keywords are not overly broad.

No reaction without knowing portfolio size. The turnover rate and prices are impressive if your portfolio size is less than 4000 similar names.

I'm surprised that you got so much for them TBH, wow - great job :tu:

They seem to be more like "Brandable Generics" rather than pure Keyword .coms

Were the prices already set or did you have to negotiate to get them ?

ps - I just signed up for your newsletter too, thanks

Hello,

We sold at Asking Price for cambuddy, jumbotube, and mobilew a r r i o r. The $5k each names were part of a negotiated package. The other names were also sold after a back and forth with the buyers.

This morning we sold Whiff(dot)org for $300 after a phone negotiation. The buyer called the whois phone number we had listed. Those are the kind of calls that I feel are important to receive as they come in since end-users usually have another name they like in the back of their mind.
