not sure about the value of boards, the revenue through advertising may be interesting though. so, my suggestion would be to develope them and crosslink or forward to your main forum. the ones with the least hits, i'd offer for sale for mid $xx maybe even low $xxx; at least you can show traffic on the ones you'd like to sell in then end. always a good argument!
