LGBT = superb domain for advocacy
But skeptical about resale value. Not sure monetization will be easy. Priceless in the right hands but...

LGBT is worth a lot, but that type of advocacy doesn't necessarily have ample money for that type of purchase. I think you can definitely get mid $xxxx in an auction, but I'd say the name is work 3 or 4 times that, maybe more, based on what it could be used for. The .net sold for $1400 but org fits this extension perfectly.

The wait would be long for a good end user offer but I think it's worth it

lgbt.org around 10k-15k imo, or more, I would contact relevant end users and explain them benefits of .org for their case (it goes really well with lgbt groups, which are mostly non profit organisations).

LGBT.org is worth well into 5 figures in my view.

The .NET selling for far less would not really concern me. It is a much worse fit with the term.
Also, .ORG is often a first choice for an end user for a term like this.
