It has a great potential if developed. Tutorials and tips seem like the way to go to fit the extension.

I dont think has a resell value but obviously it could hold a fantastic programming forum, perfect for what you have in mind (job offes and maybe game programming resources...)

There is a spanish community for exactly that purpose, that might give you some idea on what to develop (its in spanish but you will get the point):

As you can see, the name is not the most important thing in these kind of sites, but the content inside.
