Gold.com in hindi (गोल्ड is pronounced "gold" and is borrowed from English)

Gold here is written phonetically in devanagari (hindi) script. The word गोल्ड (gold) is actually used in India in spoken language, in newspapers, and on billboards, shops, advertisement, etc. Type in गोल्ड at google news and you will find that the word being used daily in the news.
Please make me an attractive offer.

As my knowledge of Hindi is limited, I contacted my Indian friend in India who knows a thing or two about gold, to answer you question.

He said that both words are in use and basically mean the same thing: Gold. सोना (Sona) has a second meaning namely sleep. गोल्ड (Gold) is adopted from English.
He told me that if he were to go to a shop to buy gold he would probably say: "Mujje 24 carat sona chiaye", but "Mujje 24 carat gold chiaye" would be fine too.

Basically the word गोल्ड is Hindi, adopted from English.
Sona (सोना) is original Hindi and stems from Sanskrit.

I hope this helps.
