G analytics - Is it good

I have never used Google analytics.

My sites used webalizer in the past.

Questions:

-is it free?
-does it require private info (phone verification, photo id )
-can we trust its scripts
-do you recommend it
-can you plant it anywhere to track visits?
-is their data useful/easy to use?
- is there a better alternative?

Google Analytics is free (but with some restrictions)

Google Analytics logs every visits from users and bots and it gives you a summarized dashboard. Because Google is everywhere, it knows(guesses) who the users are, what they like, what devices they use, and where they come from. You can also add trackers to see how your user interact with your UI elements.

You can put GA tracking code on websites and apps.
