Hey Kimmy...What does it mean? From what I can tell it has to do with spinning something in a centrifuge?

Answers.com definition for "fug" : noun

A heavy, stale atmosphere, especially the musty air of an overcrowded or poorly ventilated room: โ€œIn spite of the open windows the stench had become a reeking fugโ€

But I'm moreover interested in this as a slang term for people who don't want to use curse words. These are the results for Google searches for the terms Fug and Fuged. I find it interesting how many people use this in place of a better known word that isnโ€™t acceptable in most cases.

I also thought this might have a tiny bit of brandability (which also isn't an actual word but probably should be) because it's short, memorable and easy to type.

Any thoughts, feelings or valuations for this?

Thanks a bunch,

Oh, for god's sake, okay:

Guess I'll take a stab at it:
If you want a tech use, Fuge stands for FUnctional Genomics Experiment... you probably found that out already. Adding the 'd' makes it into a neat/tidy little coined verb that anyone involved with that research might like as a handy website name.
I actually feel that use is quite strong and attractive for this name.
Check into them at: http://fuge.sourceforge.net/

If you want cussin' slang, yes a lot of people say 'fug', or 'get fugged' -- but I've always seen it spelt with the 2 g's, never with one. The first time I saw this name, that meaning didn't even enter my (alleged) mind. I actually don't know the correct spelling for fuged/fugged with that use... just mentioning my first reaction.

If you want religion, Fuge is the name of a (I think) Christian school camp, they might like this cool name for kids that have been there, maybe erect a 'fuged' site as fun bible slang for kids that have been fuged... attended camp there?

And if you want fun slang, or just general-population techspeak, I really like the name as it immediately looks/sounds to me: a take off of centrifuge, as upper reply mentioned. Mebbe a topsy-turvy site that is hard to figure out, links all mixed up, lots of kiddie cartoon-graphics, and a real maze/adventure for kids into unexpected funny things happening when they hit big funnybunny buttons all over the place?
Sounds like a nightmare to get scripts for this, but doesn't it sound cool?

Nice 5-letter word that's right on the fence (or over?) to being a real dic word. Variety of possible uses. Sounds nice, both ways. Sucks eggs as a keyword but extremely nice as a usable, creative word. Careful of branding, I think the Genwho-ick Ax-spearmint listed above actually has fuge trademarked. If you did something fun for the kids, though, of course there's no conflict tm-wise. Has strong points though not a clear word, so I'll apraz a little on the optimiztic side:
rezellr = very low xxx as-is
end uzr = low - med xxx undeveloped. But I'd sure like to see it as a fun zany site for the kids!
