Here are some facts about my experience with SeDo so far:

1. Out of 200 domains that I have listed there - I haven't received any offers on any of them.

2. About 100 of my domains haven't even had a view

3. Two domains that I sold there were from customers who I got outside of Sedo in hopes that launching the sale into an auction would bring more, but it did NOT

4. Their parking page is probably the worst in the business. I have parked a couple domains with traffic there and yet to receive a paid click on it.

5. Their comission on a $100 sale was $50 because I didn't park my domain with them.

6. I have paid to be featured on the homepage and in the respective section for one of my domains and recieved NO OFFERS too.

7. Their customer service is really bad.

8. I have posted my domains on Moniker 4 days ago and I have received an offer immediately.

Anybody else shares my pain?

just be aware that sedo does not control the quality of your names and can only do so much to help with sales. their parking pages definitely blow, but there are some really nice ones with other parking programs. i'd suggest you give those a shot to improve your ctr. with respect to the commissions rule, you should've already been aware of it when listing.

sedopro's page aren't all that bad. But overall, there landing pages are not the best in the business.
as for the sales and views...
that all depends on the quality of the domains.

I like their website/platform & some of their parking page are really nice IMO

My only Major Gripe with sedo is they consistently ignore peoples emails :td: The last one I sent was about 2 weeks ago and I still did'nt get an answer....from my experience with them - It will likely go unanswered.

You can't get much worse than that - It's just plain RUDE !

Sedo is a waste for many - I too have experienced the exact same thing ... I got no offers via Sedo even with their paid Premium Listings, but as soon as I moved those domains away to a parking place (DomainSponsor / Parked.com) ... bam, productive offers rolled in like clockwork.

Make a Sedo user page link in your Namepros signature.

This could help out.

I never figured out how to list domains for sale on moniker, how do you do it?

The funny thing is when you send a buyer to Sedo or a place like Afternic, using them only for the escrow, they probably count it as another domain sale!

They may report it in Dnjournal that another sale took place, ( if it was over $1,000) when in reality they only handled the sale for you. I wonder what percentage of names sold thru a auction house such as those two are reporting that they sold those names?.

I am not to sure about the replies here being about the quality of names as to why names are not selling. I just think there are way too many of them listed for everyone to get found. Really only a handful a day are being sold and that is in relation to millions of names that are in the auction house inventory. The best way to move those names is an agressive marketing sales force, contacting end users and small business owners.

What auction house is really doing that? To me the stand out company is Moniker. They are doing the best. Other companies are now contacting end users to a small degree, but they may push only their domains or a few very high quality ones of members. Moniker is going after certain segments of the aftermarket and if your domains qualify you may find your domain selling. Moniker is finding great success doing so.
