I'm about to change my hosting company to a Linux package but i'm worried about one thing- MS Frontpage extensions- I didnt design my site and I am no longer in contact with the designer so I dont know if my site has Frontpage extensions or not, so if my site has frontpage extensions will it work correctly with Linux or do i have to go with a Windows host? thanks

It will work with Linux hosting that have them, but be aware that Frontpage has been dropped by MS and support will eventually be dropped by most(all) hosting companies.

Hi,
Yes. Your frontpage website will work both with Linux and Windows.
You just need to make sure that the Frontpage extensions are installed on your hosting account before you start publishing.

Yeah, linux hosts usually have frontpage extentions enabled. I would just ask the support of the host just to make sure. If it's cpanel, then you shouldn't have a problem, but I would ask to be on the safe side.

Thats a point. I think Cpanel too is in the same route. With the Cpanel 11, they are not providing support for frontpage extensions even though it is available and can be used.

You can always use frontpage to design the site, and just upload manually through FTP. I've done that, and the host I was on didn't have frontpage extentions enabled. I might would go ahead and start doing it this way, so that when they do drop it, you want have to drastically change how you do things.

With this feature you can upload your site directly from Microsoft FrontPage software on to your web server. Webhostingbuzz.com has this feature in their budget package plans.

Ahosting.biz has FrontPage extensions in their package plans as well. As I understand the server extensions affect 3 basic areas of functionality: authoring, administering and browse-time functionality. Right?

You can get Frontpage Extension enabled in serverpoint.com, hostitwise.com, a2hosting.com, hosting plans, however, you shouls specify whether you need FrontPage 2000 or FrontPage2002 extension.

Do you mean serverpoint.com, hostitwise.com, a2hosting.com?
If so, ServerPoint.com provides live chat, ticket system, extensive knowledge base, video tuts, email and phone support.
Hostitwise.com has a customer support by email, phone and helpdesk.
A2hosting.com supports via phone, ticket system, email.
As you see these companies have nice support system that is very helpful for their customers.

I meant the extend to which the hosts provide support for FP issues. Normally all have limited support when comes to FP.
