Back in July I interviewed Swetha from DNGear.com about her approach and success with .xyz. In August she did not quit and made 3 out of the top 10 new gtld sales for August. Including numbers 2 and 3. Number 2 was Frontier.xyz, the domain name sold for $9,888. The domain is already up and […]

When the name gets put to use;
im more inclined to believe $9,888 price.

Congratulations to the XYZ Queen @DNGear
She is like Mike Mann of XYZ because she already owns all the single word xyz

And no other TLD operator promotes their extension like XYZ
They are really really active, promoting events, super active on social media and creates a very good buzz giving exposure and confidence to buyer.

And then there is great extensions like .co and .biz and even .top
Greedy operators, instead of promoting, they are busy making every decent domains into registry premium

Try to buy ZQXV in dot co and it will be registry premium. The wholesale price of ZQXV . com will be less than their reg premium

I admire @DNGear her great work, unluckily I found great potentials of .xyz later than her otherwise I would love to stash those single words in belief, but the opportunity is always there and the sunrise is coming, couple years later she will definitely be the most famous queen in domain industry.

Yeah...but you might not know how painful when you picked them up while everyone else were bashing xyz like trash and you needed to keep telling yourself holdadoor...:banghead: for many years, she deserves for selling them for big bucks.

Not wanting to burst Swetha's bubble. I take my hat off to here. But if she owned every dictionary word, a couple of sales under $10K is not exactly going to make that profitable. But it's a start. But I know she doesn't hold every dictionary word. Because I own at least two of them :)

Yeah, of course she don’t own all the dictionaries their are many investors own them very quietly(especially some registrars), I guess because they are waiting for the bad rumors pulled through and also there are many efforts depend on the registry’s promotion, but she is the one that achieved amazing sales records.

Yep. I agree that her sales values are impressive, from the two mentioned in this thread. But a swallow doesn't make a summer. I also think that the founder, Daniel Negari's predictions about .xyz's future might actually be coming true, if the registrar's, and others, are holding onto .xyz domains expecting to make a killing. when everyone in the domainer industry, for example, seems to have been predicting .xyz to be dead in the water, and wouldn't survive. For me personally. I kinda like the potential of .xyz despite all the doom and gloom. I could see a future where .xyz could become a mainstream tld, where domains are actually used in commerce. But. And it's a big BUT. Unless my cashflow is positive with my miniscule .xyz investment, I don't see much in the way of making an income in .xyz domains (the domainers view). I drop them after 1 or 2 years when they have had next to zero visitors to the forsale pages. I've not had 1 inquiry about even one .xyz domain.

I agree your point, the other point is, the domain industry has gone through so many years, investors have already known which ones are the value according to historical facts, so it’s pretty much became dead water since they holding the majorities, but in this stage the winners will always be registries themselves it’s like when online stores shopping became thriving many off-line stores and middleman’s will getting harder to be survived, so pretty much they’re unlikely to consider investor’s point of views(I hope they should find a way helping investors). On the other hand, the universe sometimes is fair about things are iteratively generating new thoughts, as in my observations most dictionary word that had been sold are those tend to be more techie/spacial words (moon.xyz, uni.xyz, wwwwww.xyz, etc. for more go to .xyz official site) those new generations are not really interested in those of “stiff” single words, they like words has more creativity and personalized, as I said the winner will always be registry itself.

She makes a lot of sales and she might have bought majority under $1 and an I am sure she is dropping a lot of deadweight.

What is Daneil's prediction?
I think xyz is selling because of his promotions, otherwise how is itbetter than .info or .biz or even .top
I am asking your opinion
It is a 3 syllable tld It is not a very good sounding TLD. It has some value perception because Daniel Negari is promoting it all over the place.
Those who are selling while the market is hot are the smart ones.

Why do you think it will be more mainstream over a .biz or a .net
I am not shitting on it.
If it goes mainstream, for us, it will be another TLD worth trading in, that's all, but personally, I can't see any more value compared to another.
