The majority of students already have an email before starting their studies. Even if their employer provides them with one to work, business schools take the lead in preparing their students to differentiate themselves in the job market with a more pro-active email.

of CV ... or when sending an email. Following the launch of new Internet extensions, it is now possible, thanks to the domain names to stand out when a recruiter, an employer or a headhunter , will receive email or browse a student and his CV Its possible letter of motivation .
For example, a future trader who uses a "gmail" or "hotmail" email can now present himself with an email such as: [email protected], [email protected] or: [email protected]

YouTube and fb usernames will become extremely valuable in due course and could easily replace domain names? I

No one back in the day when fb or YouTube was still new could have ever realised how huge those two websites were going to become and first name usernames will go for silly dough

But people will already have their chosen email address long before then

Free email !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Free ... the first few years." Paid for as long as they're in school.

Another nice article from new gtld consultant.

The problem with this is how many are going to maintain after they leave school? Will some of these be on some ban list?

Maybe they should just get their own name, that would come off as more professional with personal touch.

Mind you if tech keeps moving as fast as it does people won't need to go to school as they will be self made billionaires before 16 lol

They've a bunch of defensive regs some pointing to .com and others not resolving. Do you know if they are marketing the url? That would be more interesting news imho.

The fact that some of the defensive regs point to the .com and some are not resolving yet there .global domain is on a standalone website, means they are likely driving traffic to this domain name. Otherwise, it would just point to their .com domain like the other ones OR they might have other plans up their sleeves.
