I have developed the domain FreeMusicVideos.net to the point where it earns a few dollars per month via affiliate programs and Adsense )maybe $25 per month in total), but am wondering if the domain itself has any value. It DOES get direct type-in traffic as I had it parked years ago prior to development.

The reason I ask is I've been offered $200 for the domain alone, but I would like to sell the content, too, since it all goes together and perhaps I could get a little more money. I requested $500 for the domain + content since I was offered $200 for the domain alone and I really think the content adds a lot of value.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any appraisals/advice!

In my view, your domain, if earning money consistantly, is worth about 18 to 24 months worth of income (more if the website is good)

Not worth you selling for $200 if you can earn that in 4 months.

Thanks for responding and I definitely agree with you. That's why I asked for $500 and wanted to include content.

Do you think the domain itself (forget the small parking revenue it may earn per month or the earnings it has now being developed) has any value based on its pretty solid keywords?

I think the domain is good for a .net, and $500 for the lot is not unreasonable.

$200 sounds too cheap to me, without the site surely the domain is around this value of low $XXX. But, i expect the buyer wants to do their own site, so it's a catch 22 situation.

I would just keep the site myself if i was you as it is earning ok, and wait for someone who wants to buy the whole package.

Things is, to a lot of domain buyers, they might not want any of your content, they have their own things that want to put there. Or maybe they just want to park it and wait to resell to someone else.

So your content might not mean anything to him. Or else he would have told you he wanted to buy your website, not buy your domain

In general for domains with income though like you said, $25 per month, thats $300 per year, so the minimum you want to sell is $300.

I suggest you do what I do, which is because these sites dont make a lot (but still make a bit) host them yourself on your home computer set up as a server. Use win2003 and IIS6 which comes free with it to host yourself. Then your only cost is renewing the domain, which makes these sites, even though only earning $25 per month, still profitable. And I wouldnt sell to that guy, just keep for yourself as its already started to earn, and may possibly increase from here.
