I think it has some potential but I think you might need to spend a lot of time on SEO and promoting it as I don't know if Google places much weight on these tld's unless they have a lot of activity and good SEO.

I own http://freeimagesonline.com and it has been a good little traffic puller just from type in and general traffic for people looking for free images. I still need to work on making image uploads easier for me and that is a work in progress.
