Free web-content, is it any good?

Greetings everyone,

I recently wrote an article and posted it on an ezine. A week later I see my article popping up all over the web. People are using my content on their site. I am wondering, should I stick to writing original content for my site or should I just go to the nearest ezine for content. Does anyone have experience with this?

that will make a good backlinks. In my own opinion you can do both, copy a free article and publish your own article, that will help alot on your pr.

I would suggest you to write to the owner of the site asking him to remove your content from his site and stop copying henceforth. Also you should write original content using your creativity rather than copying from ezine or other articles' site. You can refer to those articles just to get some knowledge and with the help of that knowledge you should be able write your own.

I dont think copying articles is a good idea. If you like an article that much, you should contact the owner or the author for a right to republish or atleast give the credit to the author. If you dont feel like going that way, just place a link direct to the original article instead of placing it on your server, trying to make it look like yours.

Well, when you submit your article to an ezine, you give away all of your rights to the article. The goal is get many people to grab your article and therefore create many backlinks. But I still don't know who is benefiting more the writer (getting more backlinks) or the person who copies (getting free content).

there's no harm in submitting articles in ezines and article sites, and webmasters using them. just make sure that:

1. your copyright notice appears on each web page your article appears on, unchanged

2. request the website owner for a backlink.

this is a great way to get backlinks real fast and boost up the PR for your site.. just be careful that the backlinks are there ....

I would say use origninal content. Although this can get you ranked and a little more busy, it also is semi-annoying to the reader. Why should I go read it on your site when there is a site ranked higher on the search that has the same exact information? Unless you are number one in the searches against others that have the same content, this will hurt you in the long run. I also like reading original content, it adds flavour to the site.
